5 Christmas films you've probably never heard of
(something for true hipsters)
It's a Wonderful Life

Young man is trying to commit suicide, but then his guardian angel saves his life. Throughout the whole film, they both try to find again the allures of life.
Something retro, a Christmas Carol kind of story. As the title suggests, its a jolly film to watch during cold, winter evening.
Miracle on 34th street (1947)

A six year old doubts about Santa Claus existence. Fortunately, she meets a man hired to play the Saint Nick in a local shopping centre, who claims to be this real one.
Regarded as one of the best Christmas films ever made. For every retro lover and comfort seeker.
The Apartment (1960)

Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine in an American comedy drama about Bud Baxter, who finds a way to promotion by lending his apartment to the company executives as a place to take their mistresses. Everything works well until one of the mistresses attempts to commit suicide in his own bed.
The film won 5 Oscars in 1961 - with one for best film and for the best director. Not a typical Christmas film, so it should please more demanding viewers.
The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)

After a toy companys president unexpected suicide (again...) the ruthless board manager find a way to save the company. He will control it by hiring an incompetent, inexperienced college graduate. But the new president turns out not to be so naive...
8 Women (2002)

8 women, one house, 1950s France and a murder - no comment needed. Lots of songs and lots of fun. Recommended to everyone.
Something for Coen brothers comedy lovers. Again a noteworthy change in your Christmas film expectation.
