World Theatre Day
Established by International Theatre Institute in 1961, celebrated every year on 27th March - World Theatre Day. The feast of all theatres and operas. A time, when there is always a lot going on! Its almost impossible to be bored, no matter if you like theatre or not.
Here is a short list of events, that were exceptionally extraordinary, and that (we hope) you had a chance to take part in. If you didnt there is still a chance, because most of the theatres in Pozna, decided to transform World Theatre Day into a whole week! So check out what you have missed, and what you still have a chance to do and make sure you wont sleep through this even next year!
1) Teatr Polski in Pozna organized a whole week of celebrations. There was an exhibit of posters and costumes form the plays staged there and just like last year, there was a possibility to visit the theatre form backstage, and see how theatre works. No need to peep through the keyhole! The artists and the staff voluntarily agreed to share some of their secrets. Different attractions were organized for small children. Some performances are still scheduled. The most interesting point, though, were the acting workshops with one of the actors, the Master from The Master and Margarita and Sallieri form Amadeus, my personal favourite, Micha Kaleta! It turned out to be worth the try - not only for those, who wanted to become professional actors, but also for those, who wanted to build up their confidence and learn something about auto presentation.

2) Teatr Wielki in Pozna also prepared a whole range of activities. There were some closed workshops for blind children form a school in Owiski, were they could touch the art. The classes were prepared by Tomasz Raczkiewicz, a countertenor with an amazing voice and a golden heat. There were also many open events: open rehearsal of Nabucco, one of the most famous and popular operas. A real chance to see, how the rehearsals normally go, and how the artists prepare themselves for a performance. There were also backstage visits for those who want to see all the corridors and stairs inside the opera house. The event worth recommending was also a screening of five different movies presenting the history of the opera, both for the fans of the opera as such, and good movies.

3) The third option was actually organized because of the 50th anniversary of National Theatre Londons celebrations. Still, to go and admire the amazing acting skills and British accents of Benedict Cumberbatch and Johnny Lee Miller in Frankenstien in Multikino Stary Browar is not a bad way of spending an evening. If you have some doubts, please read the review.
